Incumbents mostly rule local village elections - Rochester Democrat and Chronicle
Dec 17, 2018Incumbents ruled for the most part, except in Pittsford, where two newcomers won posts. Here are the unofficial returns: Churchville: Nancy L. Steedman ran unopposed for a third four-year term and garnered 151 votes, with three write-ins. Michael H. Brown was elected as a trustee with 96 votes, and incumbent Diane Pusateri narrowly secured the second trustee spot, with 90 votes compared to 86 for village historian Ronald Belczak. Eric L Roth received 38 votes. Honeoye Falls: Five candidates were running for two village board seats, and incumbents Gerard Pavelsky and Stanley Worboys Jr. were both re-elected. Each has served on the board for 16 years and ran on the Independent Party for Responsible Community Progress. Worboys received 164 votes, and Pavelsky garnered 142. They were followed by Paul Kammermeier (125), Leah Dalton (87) and Daniel Bassette (58). The voter turnout was 290. Pittsford: Change was in the air as newcomers Alysa Plummer and Peggy Caraberis Brizee ran unopposed for two vacant trustee seats (four-year terms). Caraberis Brizee received 91 votes and Plummer 86. There were two write-in votes. Incumbents Frank Galusha and Lili Lanphear will remain on the board, while Tim Galli and Lorie Boehlert did not run. Spencerport: Current village trustee Gary Penders ran unopposed on the Progressive Party and received 129 votes. There were three write-in votes. Penders will have two years remaining on his term. The term was begun by the late Joyce Lobene, who stepped down last June. Glenn Granger took over for Lobene but decided not to run. Carol J.
